In addition, if Kentucky or Indiana law enforcements agencies observe this kind of behavior, they will issue you a ticket and bring you in. 2) If you decide to stop on a shoreline or beach the wave runner, remember the following: Wave runners need to be floating in at least 3-4 feet of water before starting the engine. Failure to do so may result in impeller damage & forfeit of deposit plus other applicable charges for repair(s). Kill the engine 10-20 feet before reaching the shoreline/beach and coast in. When departing, push it off until floating in 3 feet of water before starting engine. 3) Wave runners need to stay within visible range of the LST325 and OV Watersports. PONTOON
BOAT RENTAL TERMS
Lessee Rules: 1) All pontoon boats must stay a minimum of two hundred (200) feet away from another watercraft, platform, person, object, or shore except at a speed that is slow enough not to create a swell or wake. Always play it safe!!! IDLE WHEN APPROACHING THE DOCK OR ANOTHER BOAT. 2) THE BOAT NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY FLOATING WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING AND IN GEAR. DON’T EVER DRIVE THE BOAT ON TO THE BEACH, OR DEPART BY JUST PUTTING IT IN REVERSE. The propeller needs to have at least 3 feet of water clearance to the bottom before putting the engine in gear. Failure to do so may result in propeller and/or motor damage by rocks, sand and debris hitting the propeller and entering the cooling system. Damaged propeller and or motor, or clogged cooling system will cause you to loose your deposit and cost you other applicable charges for repair(s). When beaching the boat, always put the engine in neutral 20-30 feet before reaching the shoreline and turn off engine quickly. When leaving, have people push it off the shoreline, turn engine on but don’t put in gear until boat is completely floating and everyone is aboard. 3) DON’T EVER PLAY IN FRONT OF BARGES OR LARGE BOATS. DON’T EVER ANCHOR OR TURN ENGINE OFF IN NAVIGATION CHANNEL (middle of river between green and red buoys). Barges and large commercial boats don’t have breaks and you could get run over if you became unable to get out of their way. 4) No participants may steer the equipment unnecessarily close to the wake or recklessly try to cross the wake of another vessel, especially barges as this can throw passengers off and cause structural damage to the boat. This is also illegal and very dangerous. Stay at least 600 feet away from barges. 5) The boundaries are between Henderson and Newburgh on the Ohio River. !!!Don’t go up any creeks or through any dams!!! 6) Make sure there is at least one lifejacket per person aboard and easily accessible. 7) All persons operating the equipment must be of current legal age (18 years old). 8) The cut-off switch must be attached to the operator at all times while the equipment motor is running. 9) The use of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. If you drink, have a designated driver. 10) Operator must be in good physical and mental condition to operate or use the watercraft including but not limited to basic waterway knowledge & safety use, legal age, no injuries, pregnancy or intoxication from drugs or alcohol. 11) I understand that by leasing/renting the watercraft from OV Water Sports I am completely taking full responsibility for my actions and all risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence or the releases or others. 12) I will not operate the watercraft unless I am fully prepared and capable with the right safety equipment and knowledge required.
